Its a Lonely Rugged Road(The lonesome Cowboy)
My horse heaved and grunted
As the west wind slapped my face
I pulled up my boots and mounted
Between time and me it was a race
The dust dancing before us
forming pictures of my past
that was rich and glorious
I kicked and started riding fast
It was a journey that had no end
a perilous one to run away my life
to get away from my enemies and friends
after all i had lost my wife
As twilight creeped in
shadows loomed large as i stopped in my tracks
a thorn cut my shin
sweating i began to have my flashbacks
Once upon a time a great marksman was i
respected all over the west
Nothing evil escaped my skillful eye
I was cosidered the best
I had everything i could ask for
The most beautiful and loving girl as my better half
Good friends and enemies for sure
All the days were a good laugh
Being on top is never permanent
Obstacles push you down
For me it was devil himself sent
It was the beginning of all the frowns
All turned in the wrong way
it began as usual in the morning
it was just another normal day
i rode to the bar happily singing
An arch-rival drinking beer
stared at me and took out the gun
i took my rifle and without any fear
shot as he broke into a run
He entered my cottage
and all hell broke loose
My wife became his hostage
A right shot i had to choose
What went wrong i do not know
But the bullet through my wife went
OH!he laughed at my failure throw
and through the town the message he sent
People shocked at my act
stopped their daily jobs
no one knew how to react
but a passing remark i heard i was a dirty slob
Nobody thought his part in this
it was all his show
The town was just talking of my one fatal miss
it was a great blow
My fame was blown away all in a moment
all in one shot i was shunned
people thought i would be a torment
away from the town i was turned
I silently riding now on my horse
could only think one thing
Fame is nothing but remorse
On the top with everything
Its our ability to keep it intact
to accept things as they are
People point out the mistakes and thats a fact
Whether the greatest but never perfect you are
I for the first target i missed
lost all the love and respect i had
lost my people lost the only gal i ever kissed
lost my town i was branded bad
I rode on the lonely rugged road
never to know to what joy
to which place i would forget this heavy heart load
i rode endlessly... i was the lonely cowboy
BAD....... :P :'(
schoolmates... and me...
